Hot-Dip Galvanizing Service | Long-Term Corrosion Protection for Steel
Hot-dip galvanizing is a surface treatment in which pretreated steel components are immersed in molten zinc, forming zinc-iron alloy layers and a pure zinc layer on the steel surface for long-lasting rust protection. K.C.F. specializes in hot-dip galvanizing services, and all kinds of steel structures, steel parts and hardware can be sent to us for galvanizing.
What Is Hot-Dip Galvanizing?
Hot-dip galvanizing is one of the most common ways to protect steel from corrosion. After pretreatment such as degreasing, pickling and fluxing, the steel is immersed in high-temperature molten zinc. The zinc reacts metallurgically with the steel surface to form a tightly bonded coating that covers even corners, edges and the inside of pipes.
Our zinc, your peace of mind—the zinc coating takes on environmental corrosion first, so your structures last longer.
Key Advantages of Hot-Dip Galvanizing
Complete Coverage with No Blind Spots
Dipping lets molten zinc flow into corners, welds and holes, making complete coverage far easier to achieve than with brushed or painted rust-prevention coatings.
Tight Bond Between Coating and Steel
Zinc and iron form alloy layers with excellent adhesion, so the coating is less likely to flake off during handling and installation.
Sacrificial Anode Protection
Even if the coating is locally damaged, the surrounding zinc corrodes first and continues to protect the exposed steel.
Lower Ongoing Maintenance
Ideal for locations with long-term outdoor or humid exposure, or that are hard to maintain, reducing the labor and time spent on repeated repainting.
Typical Applications of Hot-Dip Galvanizing Service
- Steel-structure factories and building steelwork
- Road, bridge and public works steel components
- Power and telecom engineering materials
- Grating, drain covers and railings
- Agricultural, greenhouse and livestock facilities
- Bolts, hardware and all kinds of fabricated steel parts
Hot-Dip Galvanizing Process
The standard process is: Incoming inspection → Degreasing → Pickling → Fluxing → Hot-dip galvanizing → Cooling and finishing → Quality inspection and shipment.
Pretreatment determines whether the zinc coating adheres evenly. K.C.F. pays close attention to every step and follows the relevant standards to ensure consistent coating quality.
What Should Be Prepared Before Galvanizing?
Actual specifications and pricing depend on an overall assessment of project conditions. When requesting a quote, we recommend providing the following information:
- Component material and quantity
- Dimensions and weight per piece
- Drawings or photos of the components
- Whether vent and drain holes have been provided in closed hollow structures
- Whether paint, oil or markings on the surface need to be removed first
- Required lead time and shipping method
